Sylvia M. Mail, 87, of Terre Haute went to be in her eternal home in heaven March 11, 2026. She was the daughter of Fredrick and Josephine (James) Mail. She retired as an inspector for the State of Indiana Highway Department and was a member of Bethany Community Church of West Terre Haute. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Jack Mail and Joe Mail. She was preceded by her sisters Martha House, Mary Steele, Mazie Roberts, Essie Keller, Minnie Kaperak, and Anna (Poppy) Meyer. She was also preceded by nieces and nephews Tracy Miner, Martha Mail, Sue Fortner, Jerry Steele, and Glenn Keller. She is survived by nieces and nephews Robert Steele, Jeff Steele, Sam Mail, Patty Swetits, Kathy Burnett, Steven Mail, Leslie Ellis, Joe Kaperak, Mike Roberts, Jack Roberts, Warren Roberts, Jody Starnes, David Meyer, Linda Davis, Sandy Murray, Ben Keller, Brent Keller, and Larry Cox. There are also many great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral will be at DeBaun Springhill Chapel on Wednesday March 18, 2026 at 1 p.m. with Revs. Steve Moore and Mike Roberts officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until services. Burial will follow in Grandview Cemetery. For those who choose, memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Community Church of West Terre Haute. The nieces and nephews would like to recognize and give special thanks to Gentiva Hospice, especially Lindsay Morgan and Candace Snyder; and also to Tammy Clinkenbeard and the staff of Springhill Village of Terre Haute.
