Jay Cornwell, 96, of Huntington passed away Thursday, December 30, 2004 in Home Sweet Home Eldercare, Chesapeake, OH. Funeral service will be conducted 11 AM Monday at Beard Mortuary, Huntington. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park. He was born April 8, 1908 in Huntington, a son of the late John and Ida Thacker Daniels Cornwell. In addition to his parents he was also preceded by his wife, Ruby Deloris Javins Cornwell; three sisters, Olive Newman, Ida Mae Mathis, and Effie Smith; two brothers, Frank and Moody Cornwell. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Roger Dale and Julie Cornwell of New Orleans, LA; three grandchildren, Jay Cornwell II, Dawn Michelle Cornwell, and Melissa Lynn McDowell; three great grandchildren, James Russell, John Preston McDowell and Sade Cornwell. Friends may call from 10 to 11 AM on Monday prior to the service at the mortuary. Online condolences may be sent at www. beardfuneralhome.com.
