Jay Allan Forbey, born September 11, 1967, in Evansville, Indiana, passed away on November 25th, 2025, surrounded by loved ones, after a life defined by curiosity, sharp wit, and an ever-questioning mind.

The son of Denis Forbey and the late Marcia Lowen, Jay grew up with a deep fascination for how the world worked. His natural intellect shone through in everything he did - in the way he could solve nearly any problem placed in front of him, in the vast knowledge he carried about history and nature, and in his ability to notice the everyday mysteries most people overlook. He was known for seeing connections others missed, remembering details others forgot, and sparking conversations that stayed with people long after they ended.

Jay loved pursuits that fed his curiosity: hunting for arrowheads, studying the stories of the land, fishing, and capturing the world through photography. He approached each interest with the same intensity and thoughtfulness that shaped his life. Those who spent time with him often said he had a way of teaching without trying - simply by being himself.

He is survived by his wife, Chastity Forbey (Vaughn), who shared his life and supported his passions; his children Nathan Forbey, Chelsie Forbey (McReynolds), Alexis Forbey (York), and Jesse Forbey; his bonus children Stacey Fisher and Eva Fisher; and many grandchildren who admired his sharp mind and unforgettable spirit. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marcia Lowen.

Jay will be remembered not only for what he knew, but for how he encouraged others to think deeper, look closer, and appreciate the world with a little more wonder.
