Roy Weightman, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2025, in
Evansville, Indiana, leaving behind a legacy of love and unwavering dedication to his family. Born on April 12, 1948, in Greenville, Kentucky, Roy's journey through life was marked by his tremendous heart and the joy he found in the company of others.
Roy is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Georgia Weightman, who stood by him through life's many adventures. Together, they raised a family that included sons Cecil (Millie) Weightman, Tommy (Teri) Weightman, and Leroy (Cindy) Weightman; stepchildren Toni (Harold) Heath, Patty Peckenpaugh, Mary Miller, Tearza Weightman and Makayla Weightman; along with a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who were the apple of his eye. Roy also had the joy of loving one bonus grandchild, who brought additional light into his life. Roy is also survived by his sister Tammy (Don) Cox. While his daughter Theresa Weightman and son Michael Weightman, as well as his grandson David Weightman, brothers Teddy and Robbie Weightman, and his parents Cecil and Thelma Jane Weightman preceded him in death, the memories they shared continue to resonate within the family.
Roy's career as a plumber was a testament to his work ethic and his belief in giving his all, no matter the task. He took pride in his work and was a respected member of his profession, always ready to lend a helping hand or share his expertise with colleagues and those in need. His involvement in various associations within his trade further exemplified his commitment to his craft and his community.
But it was Roy's personal qualities that truly set him apart. To know Roy was to know a man who never met a stranger. His friendly demeanor and selfless nature meant that friends and family always felt welcomed and loved in his presence. He was the embodiment of a loving spirit, always putting others before himself and ensuring that his family never went without.
Roy's interests were as diverse as his skills. He found joy in the simplest of pleasures, whether it was sharing a story, a hearty laugh with friends, or simply spending time with his loved ones. His presence was a source of comfort and strength, and his ability to connect with people from all walks of life was a rare gift that will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
As we say goodbye to Roy Weightman, we are reminded of the impact one life can have on so many. His legacy of love, friendship, and selflessness will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to be part of his world. Roy's journey may have come to a close, but the memories and lessons he left behind will endure forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
