Marjorie Ann Conner, a beacon of warmth and love, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2025, at the age of 92. Born on December 1, 1932, in Mount Vernon, Indiana, Marjorie's life was a tapestry of dedication to her family, her work, and the simple joys that make a life well-lived.

Marjorie's journey began as the cherished daughter of Clarence and Ada Pharr. She grew up alongside her siblings, forging bonds and memories that would last a lifetime. Although she was preceded in death by her brothers Paul, Elmer and Charles Pharr, and her sister Helen Manion, the values instilled in her by her family carried through every aspect of her life.

Marjorie's heart found its match in her loving husband, Alan Conner. Together, they built a life rich with love and laughter. Her daughters, Jeanne Koch and the late Ronald Koch, and Vicky Steinmetz, and her son, Brian Steinmetz, and his wife, Jill Steinmetz, were the center of her universe. Though she mourned the loss of her husband Alan and her son Michael McCarty, her love for her family never wavered.

A proud grandmother, Marjorie's legacy extended to her grandchildren: David (Patty) Ethridge, Mathew Carlisle, Kalie (Sean) McKinley, Zachary Steinmetz, Crystal (Garrett) Achilles, Tom (Diane), Tim, Amy, Lucas (Callie), and Anna McCarty, Rebekah (Koasuke) Hirano, and Sara Brenson. She was also a doting great-grandmother to Jaxon Carlisle, Rylie and Kellen McKinley, Alex, Kyle (Nicole), Massie and Kyndell Ethridge, Savannah and Annabelle Bransen, Jackson and Karlee McCarty, Heidyn Debes, and Katlyn Hassi. The family tree continued to flourish with the arrival of her great-great-grandchild, Audrey Jane Ethridge.

Marjorie's professional life was marked by her many years of service at Heston Insurance Agency, followed by a fulfilling 25-year tenure with H&R Block until her retirement. Her work ethic and commitment to her clients were unmatched, and she was a respected figure among her colleagues and the community.

Beyond her professional achievements, Marjorie had a zest for life that was contagious. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, creating memories that they will treasure forever. Traveling with her lady friends, she explored new places and experienced the world with the same enthusiasm she approached everything in life. In her younger years, Marjorie enjoyed bowling, striking up friendly competition and camaraderie. Her beloved pet, Bubby Boy, was a constant source of joy and companionship.

Marjorie's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and friendship. Her unwavering spirit and the happiness she found in the simple pleasures of life will continue to inspire those who knew her. As we bid farewell to Marjorie Ann Conner, we celebrate a life beautifully lived and a legacy that will endure in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will be cherished, and her presence deeply missed.

There will a memorial service on Monday Dec 1, 2025 at 12pm. Family and friends are welcome to visit from 11 until service time at Sunset Funeral Home, Cremation Center and Cemetery at the Chapel of Peace.
