Jay Pete Manley III passed away Friday March 14 2025 at Memorial hospital in Marysville, Ohio. He was 63 year old. Born on August 28, 1961 in Marion Ohio to Jay Pete Manley Jr. And Betty Lou (Baer-Steinman) McDaniel. On February 11, 2000 Jay married Marla(Hashman) Manley.
Along with his wife, Jay is survived by Step-sons Nicholas Manley, Christopher Manley and Jon(Stormy) Manley, daughters Angel (Cody) Foreman, Arika (James Skeens) Manley and Frances (Chad) Temple, brothers Harold Manley of Upper Sandusky Ohio, Mike(Penny) Manley of Northport Florida, Bill (Jo) Nance of Melbourne Florida and John (Amanda) Steinman of Meridan,CT. sisters Christina Manley of Marion Ohio and Estella "Mae" (Marvin) Jones of Meridan,CT., step-mom Marlene Manley, uncle Terry Manley, mother-in-law Mardee Lang,13 grandchildren, and numerous neices, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his Parents, sister Barbara Manley and father-in-law Jerry Lang.
In his younger days Jay worked at Marion Pallet and General Machine and Saw Co. Jay decided to be a stay-at-home dad and help raise his family when his twin daughters were born. Jay had a special heart for animals, throughout his life he had many cats and dogs, Including his most recent companion Sprinkle Cakes. Jay loved playing video games (mostly Mario and Zelda), golfing, Binge watching Netflix, teasing his cats with a laser, crotcheting baby blankets for family, spending time with his children and grandchildren. Jay was always known for speaking his mind no matter who was listening. He didnt think twice about what came out of his mouth. Jay was stubborn, yet caring. Jay loved to share jokes and laugh with his family. Jay loved rooting for his football teams Ohio State, and Denver Broncos.
The family would like to send a special thank you to all the nurses who cared for Jay in his final moments. Especially, the nurses of 3 East and 2 South at Marion General Hospital. Jay will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life for Jay will be held on Friday March 21, 2025 at 12:00 noon at the Marion Christian Center, 1550 Richland Rd. and the family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 12 noon. Memorial contribution can be made in Jay's name to the Marion Area Humane Society or Marion County Board of Developmental Disabilities. Affordable Cremation Service of Ohio is assisting the family with arrangements.
