Jay Provnick Obituary

Jay was born on October 28, 1959 to Evelyn (Grennan) Provnick and Francis Provnick. He was a graduate of DC BOCES.
Jay was predeceased by his parents; his beloved aunts and uncles, Veronica and Phillip Baccomo; Rose and Arthur Chivalo, Agnes and Francis Supple, Mary Provnick, Helen Provnick, Anna Burch and Marjorie and William Toenigs, Joseph and Margie Provnick; cousins Brenda and Vincent Nenni.
He is survived by his loving sister, Denise, his cousins Brian and Cathy, Greg, Matthew, Julia, and Jessica Nenni, and his longtime friend Jim Palmatier.
Jay enjoyed talking and laughing with friends and strangers, alike. He spent many hours in his younger years on his CB radio using the handle "Dynamite." He loved spending time listening to music, old radio serials, black and white movies, Jeopardy, and having lunch with his new friends at the Beacon Friendship Center. Jay was also a faithful listener to Eyewitness News for many decades which he said opened up the world to him.
Jay will be remembered for his sense of humor, his amazing ability to recall dates, down to the day of the week, of so many different events, both historical and personal, and his autograph collection of the many people that touched his life.
Jay's sister would like to thank all of Jay's family and friends, A&T Healthcare and all of his home healthcare aides, Clove Coach and their professional drivers, the Advocate Homecare Team (Day Program) in Fishkill, NY. It is because of all of these dedicated loving people that helped to make it possible for Jay to remain living at home and live a full life.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, February 21 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Riverview Funeral Home by Halvey, 2 Beekman Street, Beacon. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 22 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joachim Cemetery, Beacon.
