Jay Richard Sillars

Jay Richard Sillars of Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, died at home surrounded by his family on July 27th of complications of ALS. Jay was born in Des Moines, Iowa, in 1963 to James and AnnaBelle Sillars. He attended Des Moines Public Schools and graduated from Iowa State University with a B.S. in Computer Science. Jay married Mary Pat Dolan on June 24,1989. Together they lived in Texas, California and Iowa before settling in Brooklyn Park. He retired in 2019 as a Principal Software Engineer for Calabrio. Jay enjoyed camping, annual fishing trips to Canada and Vegas with friends, woodworking, riding his One Wheel and electric Unicycle, being outside and spending time with his family and friends. His favorite place to be was sitting out in our screen porch, listening to rain storms. Jay is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Mary Pat; sons- Jack(31), Max(24), Alec(16); sister Marie; and many extended family and friends.
