Jay Vernon Stanley, 63, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born on September 30, 1962, to Edward and Carolyn Stanley. He was a graduate of North Forsyth High School and was a long-time employee of the Town of Rural Hall in the Public Works department. Jay loved Wake Forest sports, but perhaps his greatest passion was coaching baseball at North Forsyth Little League, which he did for nearly 20 years. He stayed in touch with many of his former players through the years. He accepted Jesus Christ as his savior while in his twenties. Even in difficult times, Jay’s faith in Jesus and trust in God remained steadfast. Jay was preceded in death by his father, Edward Stanley, in 1973. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 13 years, Lisa Stanley; his daughter, Jessika Serber; his stepdaughter, Kelsey Harrison; Jessika’s children, Cayden, Jaxon, and Emmy; and Kelsey’s children, Khloe and JJ. He is also survived by one sister, Molly Chunn and her husband, Randy; and three brothers, Brian Stanley, Scott Stanley, and Brent Stanley and his wife, Laura. A funeral will be conducted on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. The family will receive friends after the service
