Jay Scott Tallant, age 60, passed away on January 3, 2026, in
Fort Worth, Texas. "Scott" was a loving son, brother, number one grandson, father, uncle, cousin, and friend. He was so excited about becoming a grandfather, aka Dadaw.
Please join us in celebrating Scott's life on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at 1:00pm at The Harbor Club, 3000 W. Fifth St.,
Fort Worth, TX 76107.
Scott was born in
Fort Worth, Texas, January 29, 1965. After his sister was born, his family moved overseas to join his father who sold military insurance in Hong Konng, Okinawa, Luxembourg, Germany, Paris, England, and a vacation skiing in Europe before we came back to the States where we put down roots in North Richland Hills.
Scott was an excellent athlete playing football, basketball, baseball, softball, golf, and tennis in school and after. He went to UTA for a few years, when an opportunity he couldn't pass up began his work in the service industry. Scott successfully managed many restaurants, then found his way into the hotel industry, managing established hotels, such as Holiday Inn, Hilton, and Hampton Inn. Scott was particularly proud of his work at a new hotel in Swansea. He helped with the staffing, the menu, and many more key management decisions entrusted to him.
While living in Wales, Scott discovered his love for Indian food, lamb, Yorkshire pudding, and enjoyed rugby, but American football was his favorite. He was extremely knowledgeable about the assassination of JFK and even corrected a radio DJ on a specific detail of the assassination. Like his dad, he was a major history buff and sports fan. Scott helped others and loved his children and family with all his heart. He was funny, witty, loved the Ticket and he was a true Dallas Cowboy fan.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents Ronny and Carolyn Tallant and his cousin David Hunt, grandparents; Smokey & Estelle Tallant and Buster & Sue Amaya. He leaves behind his son, James "Scotte'" Tallant, his wife Meghan and their newborn daughter Stevie Tallant, his daughter Jenna Mari, and youngest son, Jayden Sion; his sister Janna Tallant-Garrison, her children Cameron and Cole Garrison, his Aunt Jan Hunt, Aunt Betty Winter and her children Carissa and Brady, his Uncle Pat, Aunt Mona Coulter, their daughter Stacy and husband Scott Lakey and their children, Lauren, Garrette, Maddison, and grandchildren.
