Jay L. Wicks, 87, of Perkasie, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026. He was the husband of the late Sara (Raco) Wicks, with whom he shared 59 years of marriage. Jay and Sara lived in Harleysville and Skippack for many years.

Born July 4, 1938, in Johnstown, he was the son of the late Harold R. and Lillian (Sloan) Wicks.

Jay was a graduate of Johnstown High School and Ursinus College. He was a United States Navy veteran serving his active duty on the Destroyer USS Rich DDE820.

Jay worked in the Aerospace Industry and retired after 37 years as a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer from Lockheed Martin.

He was an active member of Advent Lutheran Church in Harleysville, a member of the Limerick Bowmen Archery Club, and later in life, became a volunteer with the Quakertown Train Station Historical Society.

Jay enjoyed playing golf, participating in archery events, weekends and vacations with Sara and the family in the Pocono Mountains. He enjoyed the special times with his daughter Melinda "Mindy", deer hunting and target shooting with his sons Michael and Mark. In addition, he and Sara looked forward to vacations with his brother Hal and his family at Saranac Lake, NY.

Jay is survived by his sons, Michael and his wife, Tina, of Spring Hill, FL, and Mark and his wife, Sharon, of Quakertown, PA; his daughter, Melinda "Mindy" Hale and her husband, Bruce, of Sellersville, PA; four grandchildren, Krystin (Hale) Curry and Brett Hale, and Brittany (Wicks) Jackson and Nikki (Wicks) Pergolese; and five great-grandchildren, Rowan, Meadow, and Maeve Curry, Maxwell Jackson, and Leo Pergolese.

In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Hal.

Service for Jay will be private.
