Jayantilal "Jay" Narardas Patel, a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on January 9, 2026, at the age of 82, in his home surrounded by his loving children and family. Born on December 1, 1943, Jay lived a vibrant and meaningful life marked by unwavering dedication, resilience, kindness, and a profound love for his family and community.
Jay was preceded in death by his cherished parents, Champaben and Narardas Patel, who instilled in him the strong values, integrity, and work ethic that guided him throughout his life.
Jay was happily married to his beloved wife, Nanduben Patel, from 1968 until her passing in 1981. In 1992, he found love again with Patricia Patel, with whom he shared a deeply meaningful partnership until her passing in 2022.
Jay is survived by his three children and their partners: his eldest son, Manish Patel and fiancé Terri; his beloved daughter, Shetal Hall, and her husband Mark, who was truly like a son to him; and his son, Maynak Patel. Jay's greatest joy was his family, and he was especially proud of and devoted to his grandchildren-Kelsey, Makala, Copper, Calan, and Gavin-who brought endless happiness and laughter into his life.
Those who knew Jay will remember his generous spirit and gentle nature. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and made everyone feel welcome. In his retirement, Jay found great joy working as a train operator at the mall, where his warm smile and playful spirit delighted countless children and families. Creating smiles-especially for children-was something that came naturally to him.
Jay leaves behind a legacy of integrity, compassion, perseverance, and unconditional love. Though he is no longer with us, his vibrant spirit, strong values, and the love he shared will continue to live on through the many lives he touched.
Jayantilal "Jay" Narardas Patel will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
