It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of our daughter, Jaylee Brooke Brand, who left us on Monday, February 17, 2025, at the age of 16. Jaylee was born May 8, 2008 in Lubbock. She was truly an inspiration to everyone she met. Known for her courageous, sassy, and fiery spirit, she fiercely loved her friends and family, always making time for them and offering unwavering support. Despite her own struggles, she remained loving and uplifting, eager to help anyone in need. She commanded every room she entered, never met a stranger, and was endlessly adventurous—never turning down a chance to learn or try something new. Truly a warrior at heart, Jaylee refused to quit or back down.
Jaylee took great joy in spending time with her dogs, Coco and Lola, as well as with her friends and family. Jaylee enjoyed playing volleyball, talking a bit of friendly smack, baking, hustling at air hockey, roller skating, gardening, riding motorcycles, and crafting. She often created handmade gifts and baked special treats for those she loved.
Her passion for animals shone brightest in her love for reptiles. She devoted much of her time to caring for them and continuously sought ways to improve their well-being.
Jaylee leaves behind her parents, Vic and Elena Ritcherson of Lubbock; siblings, Colton Ritcherson and Brittani and Cody Hilliard, all of Lubbock; nephews, Case and Crew Hilliard; grandparents, Bill and Patty Brand and Jess and Vicki Ritcherson, all of Lubbock; as well as extended family and friends who loved he dearly.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 am Saturday, March 1, 2025, at The Worship Center, 7116 82nd Street. Jaylee’s dedication, love, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed. May her memory live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
