It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Jaylen Everette Ballou, who entered into the presence of the Lord on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the young age of 22. Jaylen was born on January 6, 2003, in South Boston, Virginia, and resided in Thorndale, Texas at the time of his passing.
Jaylen was a dedicated student at Temple College in Temple, TX, where he was close to completing his degree in computers with only one class remaining. His passion for technology was rivaled only by his enthusiasm for life and how he spent his time. Jaylen found joy in playing video games with his friends, watching movies with his girlfriend, exploring the great outdoors with family and savoring meals at his favorite buffet restaurants.
He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Sarah Barry; his brother, Sebastian Barry; grandmothers, Teresa Padron and Jeannie Ballou; grandfather, James Barry; great-grandmother, Theresa Barry; uncles, Raymond Marcantel Jr, John Barry and Kevon Brown; Aunts Allison Barry, Kaitlon Barry, Kaite Matteson Jasmine Ballou and Destiny Ballou. And many cousins. Though his presence here will be deeply missed, his spirit continues to live on in the hearts of those he touched.
Jaylen was preceded in death by his father, Joey Ballou; sister, Breanna Barry; and grandfather, Leonardo Padron
While his time with us was brief, the impact Jaylen made in the lives of those around him was profound. Whether he was cheering on those he loved or sharing in life's simple pleasures, his warmth and kindness will always be remembered.
A visitation will be held on February 8th at 10:00 AM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home, followed by a service at 11:00 AM on the same day to honor and celebrate Jaylen's life. Following the service there will be a gathering at Four Oaks from 2pm-4pm. Arrangements have been provided by Brooks-Lyon Funeral Home.
