Jayne A. Cook, age 73, of Battle Creek, passed away on March 18, 2025, at Michigan Medicine in Ann Arbor. She was born on May 20, 1951, the daughter of Dorian J. and Mabel (Sever) Baggerly. Jayne was a lifelong area resident, and a 1969 graduate of Pennfield High School. She previously worked at Scooters Hardware for 12 years and was a homemaker for the majority of her life providing for her family. She was a member of the One Day at a Time breast cancer support group. Jayne also enjoyed meeting for lunch every month with her high school friends’ group. Jayne was an avid gardener, who took immense pride in her gardens at home. Her hobbies included antiquing and garage sales, refinishing furniture, attending her grandchildren’s activities, and spending time with her family. Jayne was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bruce Milnes. She was united in marriage on January 12, 1980, to Roland “Ron” Cook, he survives. Also surviving are her children; Katrina (David) Ling of East Leroy, MI., Brandon Gilkison of Kalamazoo, MI., Dustin (Mariah) Cook of Battle Creek, stepchildren; Roland “Ron” Cook Jr of Gulfport, FL., John (Deb) Cook of Alma, MI., seven grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Funeral service scheduled for 12:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at the funeral home, Pastor Steve Amaro of Journey Church officiating. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will follow the interment at the American Legion Post 298, 228 North 20th Street, Battle Creek, MI. Memorial contributions may be made in Jayne’s memory to the American Cancer Society. Memories and condolences may be left for the family at www.henryfuneralhome.oirg
