Jayqwan Lu Re Kus Cutner, Sr. affectionately known as "Jay," was born on January 12, 1991, in Columbia, SC. He was the son of Helen (Shuler) Griffin and the late Antione Cutner, Sr. Jay entered eternal rest on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, in West Columbia, South Carolina, surrounded by his loving family.
Jay married the love of his life, Bridgett (Tolay) Starks-Cutner, on April 26, 2011. Their union was blessed with two beautiful daughters, Dionesty and Dream, and a son, Jayqwan (King).
Jay attended Crane Creek Elementary, Alcorn Middle School, and graduated from Eau Claire High School. He was currently employed by Reynolds Guardrail & Fencing.
Jayqwan was baptized at Miracle Deliverance Temple. He was creative and a talented craftsman who loved to repair homes and working with landscape. He also enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. In his spare time, he enjoyed riding ATVs and was always helpful to everyone around him.
Those who are left to cherish fond and precious memories are his loving wife, Bridgett Starks-Cutner; two daughters, Dionesty Starks-Cutner and Dream Starks-Cutner; three sons, Mason Cutner, Logan Johnson, and Jayqwan (King) Cutner Jr.; his loving mother and stepfather, Helen and Sylvester Griffin; six brothers, Antione Cutner Jr., Jaquan Anderson, Jeremiah Griffin, Joshua Griffin, Jahkeem Griffin, and Jodi Griffin; one sister, Shaqwanda Cutner; his favorite grandmother and 1st lady, Doris Shuler and Catherine Cutner; his loving in-laws, mother-in-law, Detra Franklin; and two brothers-in-law, Dominique Franklin and Van Starks; he also leaves cherished memories with three nephews; a niece; and a host of other loving relatives and grieving friends, all of whom will dearly miss him.
