Jean F. Bauerlein

Jean F. Bauerlein June 8, 1936-September 28, 2025 Jean F. Bauerlein, 89 of Eltingville, Staten Island, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2025, at home in Manalapan, NJ surrounded by her loving family. Born June 8, 1936 in Mariners Harbor, she was the daughter of David H. Bell and Catherine Whytock Bell. She married the love of her life, John F. Bauerlein on October 12, 1957. After their marriage she moved to Eltingville, where she resided for 63 years and raised her 4 children, Karl (Donna), Mark (Kathy), Leslie (Eddie), and is predeceased by John (Kelly). She has 9 grandchildren Craig (Jessica), Devin (Matt), Taylor (Mark), Christopher (Jaclyn), Deanna (Garret), Michelle (Greg), Matthew (Samantha), Alyssa (Shawn), and Leanne (Michael) and 9 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law, Frances and Agnes and brother-in-law Albert and many nieces, nephews, and countless friends. She is predeceased by her brothers David & Sydney and her sister Joyce. Jean was devoted to her family and loved to cook and bake for them all. She loved sewing, working in her beautiful garden, reading and traveling. She will always be remembered for her faith, patience, kindness and unconditional love for her family and friends. Jean was employed at Proctor & Gamble Port Ivory as a typist-analyst before starting her family. After years of raising her family her love of nature and teaching had her volunteering in various positions at High Rock Park, Staten Island Historic Society and The Staten Island Children's Museum where she enjoyed giving tours to school children on class trips. Prior to moving to New Jersey Jean was an active member of Bethel United Methodist Church. She enjoyed volunteering her time giving to others. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd. (at Eltingville Station), Staten Island, New York. A Prayer Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc. located at 28 Eltingville Blvd Staten Island, New York 10312. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025 at Holy Child Church located at 4747 Amboy Rd Staten Island, New York 10312. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.
