John F. Bauerlein April 3, 1935 - October 1, 2025 John F. Bauerlein, 90 of Eltingville, Staten Island, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at home in Manalapan, NJ surrounded by his loving family. Born April 3, 1935 in Port Richmond, he was the son of John B. Bauerlein and Agnes Ochs. In 1953 to 1959 he was an Armor Crewman in the Army National Guard. He married the love of his life, Jean F. Bauerlein on October 12, 1957. After their marriage, he moved to Eltingville, where he resided for 63 years and raised his 4 children, Karl (Donna), Mark (Kathy), Leslie (Eddie), and is predeceased by John (Kelly). He has 9 grandchildren Craig (Jessica), Devin (Matt), Taylor (Mark), Christopher (Jaclyn), Deanna (Garret), Michelle (Greg), Matthew (Samantha), Alyssa (Shawn), and Leanne (Michael) and 9 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Frances, Agnes and his brother Albert and many nieces, nephews, and countless friends. John was devoted to his family and loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He loved to travel with family and friends. John worked at Proctor & Gamble Port Ivory for 34 years retiring in 1990. In his retirement years he enjoyed being a member of the Port Ivory Retiree Club and served as president for 10 years. He was a ''jack of all trades and master of them all.'' He loved to tinker with stained glass projects, painting, and sewing. He was a skilled carpenter and designer. There was nothing he wouldn't tackle. You could always find him at one of his children's homes doing some type of renovation or helping a neighbor or friend. Prior to moving to New Jersey, he was an active member and Eucharistic Guardian at Holy Child Church. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at John Vincent Scalia Home For Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd. (at Eltingville Station), Staten Island, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 3, 2025 at Holy Child Church located at 4747 Amboy Rd Staten Island, New York 10312. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY.
