Jean Byczkowski of Severn, Md., passed away Monday, July 1, 2024, at her residence. She was 83.
Jean was born Oct. 12, 1940, in Glen Lyon, Pa., and was the daughter of the late Peter A. Byczkowski Sr., and Anna (nee Malaszewski) Byczkowski. Jean was a seamstress at Plymouth Dress (Pa.) before moving to Maryland, where she worked at District Photo in Beltsville as an office manager before retiring.
She happily accompanied her son and family to England where she spent three amazing years, touring not only the UK, but also France, Belgium, Ireland, the Netherlands and her beloved Poland. Jean was especially proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all of whom brought great joy to her life.
Jean is survived by her beloved son, Thomas J. Byczkowski (Denise), of Severn, Md.; loving granddaughters: Anne McCartney (John), of Baltimore, Md.; and Mary Powers (Joseph), of Raeford, N.C.; cherished grandsons: Matthew Byczkowski (Nichole), of Lebanon, Pa.; and Phillip Byczkowski, of Severn, Md.; adorable great-grandchildren: Ava, McKenzie and Abigail Powers; and Laedyn, Gannon and Dominic Byczkowski. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, Jean was predeceased by her brothers: Peter Byczkowski Jr. and Joseph Byczkowski; and sister, Bernardine Gardenbrock.
The family will receive friends at the Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, 1411 Annapolis Road, Odenton, Md., from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, July 13. Interment will be private.
