Jean Vivian Carrier, 96, of Bay City, passed away on August 18th, 2025. She was born to Bill Carrier and Pearl (Kleinert) Arnesan on July 7, 1929. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and 4 siblings, Bethany (Ken) Bickel, Marian (Elmer) Priem, Posie (Bill) Drayer, and Fred Arnesan.

Jean is survived by her daughters, Pamela J. Gonyaw, and Amy (Gonyaw) Howard, her grandchildren, Shawna (Scott) Esther, Steffen Howard, Brandon (Johnna) Howard, and great-grandson Benaiah Howard. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and her closest friends, Karen (Wayne) Crosby, Sandy (Tom) Ittner, and Kathy Gallandt.

Jean was a retired 30-year Dow employee. She was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church, and took pride in participating in many church duties, including fundraising for her historic church's roof renovation project several years ago. Jean had two daughters and was a devoted grandmother to her three grandchildren, taking many weekend trips to Traverse City to spend time with them.

Jean's Memorial Service will be held in the chapel at First Presbyterian Church in Bay City at 11:00 am on Friday, August 29, 2025. The Rev, Brenna Overland officiating. The family will greet friends on Friday morning starting at 10:00 am until the time of the service. Jean will be laid to rest in the First Presbyterian Church Columbarium following the service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring to make a memorial contribution are asked to honor her memory with a contribution to the First Presbyterian Church.
