Jean Elizabeth Clark, 93, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025, in her New Hudson apartment from congestive heart failure. She was born on October 8, 1931, in Detroit, Michigan, to her late parents, Clarence and Edith (Eastman) Denton.

Jean's life was one of love and service. She grew up in Utica, MI, and attended Utica High School, where she took college preparatory courses. After graduation, she attended Eastern Michigan for one year to pursue a degree in elementary education.

She met her husband, Larry, in Ypsilanti, and they were married in 1950 and embarked on a life of faith that they shared for 68 years. They started their family in West MI and in 1956 moved from Brighton to Detroit to have their children attend Salem Lutheran Day School and Lutheran High School West, before moving to Milford to become members of Christ Lutheran Church.

As a mother, Jean was caring and kind, always finding ways to make the everyday moments special for her four children and her grandchildren. Her love for Christ moved her to become involved as a driver for the Red Cross, a Sunday School teacher, sing in the choir (directed by her husband for 40 years), participate in the "Meals On Wheels" program, and volunteer as a reading tutor for Huron Valley Adult Education.

In recent years, Jean and Larry moved to Abbey Park in New Hudson, where Larry passed away in 2018.

Jean was preceded in death by her loving parents, her brother, Robert, her sister, Sara, and her son, Laurence B. Clark III.

She is survived by her son Ron (Beth); daughters Karen and Sharon (Bob); and six grandchildren (Matthew [Michele], Brian, Timothy, Patrick [Sarrah], Laurence IV [Anessa], and Caleigh), and several great-grandchildren.

Jean was one of my favorite people! What a priviledge to be her friend. She emanated a warmth that always made you feel loved and special, and had a hilarious sense of humor! Her absence will be sorely felt by many. A precious gem on earth, now face to face with her Savior and in the company of her husband, son and all heavenly hosts. Thanks be to God.
Well done, good and faithful servant! You will be incredibly missed.
