Jean DePonto Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Community Home for Funerals, Inc. on Sep. 27, 2025.
Jean (Muller) DePonto, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by family. Born in the Bronx, NY, to Henry "Arthur" Muller and Mary (Nash) Muller. Predeceased by her husband, Daniel DePonto, her brother Arthur Muller. Survived by her son Daniel (Kelly) DePonto, her daughter Dawn (Nicholas) Mastrangelo. Her beloved granddaughters Mia, Makayla, and Madeline. Also, her niece, nephews and many cousins. Jean grew up with strong family values that would guide her life and shape the legacy she leaves behind.

Jean was known first and foremost as "Nana." Her greatest joy was her family, and she poured her love into every role she held-whether as a caring mother, a proud Nana, or a steady presence at every holiday and milestone. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the comforting aroma of a meal made with love.

She had a gift for making people feel seen and cared for. Her kindness and humor brought comfort to those around her, and her unwavering devotion to her family will remain an inspiration.

Jean's life was a beautiful example of love, faith, and resilience. Her family takes comfort in knowing her spirit lives on in the traditions she created, the lessons she taught, and the countless memories she left behind.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her loving family and friends.

I have known my sister-in-law, Jean, since we were very young. We were crazy teenagers, and the three of us-my brother Danny, Jean, and I-spent most of our time together, always side by side during those years. As we grew older, we started our families and enjoyed holidays and parties together. Even when we were newly married and didn´t have much, we made the most of it-spoiling the kids, with Danny dressing up as Santa Claus, and Jean preparing her special Polish meals for Easter that we all looked forward to. Those are some of my happiest memories.

Jean was my "ride or die" friend, always having my back. Like all families, we had our ups and downs, but through it all we remained the best of friends. After Danny passed away three years ago, our bond only grew stronger.

I will miss Jean dearly-as a friend, a confidant, and someone who was never afraid to be brutally honest with me. I thank God that she is now fully restored, in her glorious body, and in the presence of the Lord and all who have gone before us. What a joyful reunion that must have been.

Though I know I will see her again one day, it will be hard without her in the meantime. I love her very much and will miss her for a very long time.
