Jean Marie Carlson Dunkerley, age 91, of Glassport, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 12, 2025. She was born in Glassport, PA, on September 26, 1934, and is the daughter of the late Robert "Buck" and Stella Melcarsky Carlson. Jean lived a long and beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and devotion to her family.

In addition to her parents, Jean is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ben Dunkerley, Sr.; and their son, Ben Dunkerley, Jr.

Jean is survived by her daughters, Jackie (David) Sacunas; and Dawn (Eric) Popp; grandchildren, Jeremy, Sr.; Bryan; and David Sacunas; Kristen and Keli Popp; great-grandchildren, Sophia D'Orso; Myles; Jeremy, Jr.; Lyla; Jacob; Lena; and Emerson Sacunas; daughter-in-law, Joyce Dunkerley; and grandchildren, Kaycie; and Joe Dunkerley.

Jean is further survived by her brother, Robert "Bucky" (Carole) Carlson; and sister, Linda Breitinger. She also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will cherish her memory.

Jean was a proud member of the Polish National Alliance Club in Glassport, PA, and was well known for her vibrant energy and joyful spirit. She loved playing bingo, shopping, and spending time with her family. Always on the go, Jean had a gift for making others laugh and could brighten any room she entered. She was also a wonderful cook, famous for her delicious cold dough cookies that will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Jean's warmth, humor, and love of life will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

A burial took place at Round Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth, PA. Arrangements were cared for by Strifflers of White Oak Cremation and Mortuary Services, Inc., 1100 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131 (Sue Striffler Galaski, supervisor, 412-678-6177).
