Grandma Jean was a special lady. I'm relatively new to the family (4 years married to Dan, one of her grandchildren) and I live in Texas, so I only interacted with her a few times. Still, I could tell she was whip-smart, generous, and incredibly interesting. She would send us cards with just a single sentence, that made me feel seen and loved. And even though my two children were her umpteenth great-grandchildren, she still took the time to reach out and make them part of her life. I'm so sad I won't get the chance to know her better. Thankfully she created a whole tribe of people who carry on her legacy. I will miss having her in our lives.

I have been involved with Jean over 10 years through NLUMC. A truly selfless, amazing, intelligent woman. A helping, giving, serving heart....always. Still attending Bible studies and learning. She went out of her way to know me personally and honor me with her thoughts on situations in our church and community. We have lost a precious "Mother Teresa." I will miss her so. Praise God that he let us have her for such a long, full life. She will remain in my memory as a mentor and friend. Karen Kennedy FL
