Jean LaRocque, lovingly known as "Mom," age 91, of Lawrenceville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025. She was born on November 27, 1933, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late Lida Mae Mann and Alexander M. Kelhoffer.

Jean lived a remarkable and multifaceted life. She proudly served her country as a member of the United States Navy Air Traffic Control, and later built a career as a master cosmetologist, bringing beauty and confidence to those she served. She was also a devoted housewife who cherished raising her family and caring for her home.

A woman of many interests and talents, Jean was an artist at heart who enjoyed painting, ceramics, gardening, cooking, and all kinds of arts and crafts. She was also a proud member of the Red Hat Society, where she built lasting friendships and enjoyed life to the fullest.

For over 50 years, Jean was a faithful member of New Hope Christian Church in Lawrenceville, where she dedicated her heart and service to her church family. She will be remembered for her devotion to faith, family, and friends. Her kind heart, loyalty, and warmth made others feel loved, cherished, valued, and always welcome.

Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James L. LaRocque; her parents, Lida Mae Mann and Alexander M. Kelhoffer; her brother, Raymond Kelhoffer; and her aunt, Edith Welborn.

She is survived by her children: Jay LaRocque (Pamela), Jan Tullis (Doug), James G. LaRocque (Jennifer), and Jerry LaRocque (Tammy Day); three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren, all of whom were the joy of her life.

A celebration of life gathering will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 2, 2025, at Wages and Sons Gwinnett Chapel, 1031 Lawrenceville Hwy., Lawrenceville, GA 30046.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to New Hope Christian Church or to a favorite charity, in memory of Jean LaRocque.
