James "Jim" Dorrill McCollough, of Buford, Georgia, entered eternal rest on October 1, 2025, at the age of 81.

Jim was born on October 12, 1943, in Kingsland, Georgia, to the late Charlie Franklin McCollough Sr. and Valeria Elkins McCollough. A proud graduate of American University, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree before embarking on a long and successful career in IT Systems, a role in which he faithfully served for more than 32 years and retired from General Electric.

A veteran of the United States Marine Corps where he served with the elite Silent Drill Platoon in Washington, DC., Jim served his country with honor and discipline, values that carried through every aspect of his life. He was also a member of Hamilton Mill United Methodist Church, where his faith guided his actions and relationships.

Jim was known for his love of the outdoors, particularly fishing and gardening-hobbies that brought him joy and peace. His memory will be cherished not only for his achievements but also for the way he made his family feel deeply loved, supported, and proud.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Edward McCollough, Susie Howell, and Jane Allen.

Jim is survived by his devoted wife of fifty-eight years, Eileen Craigo McCollough; his children, Greg McCollough (Andrea) and Kari Imahara (David); his siblings, Charlotte McCollough Pike, Charlie Franklin McCollough Jr., and Cassandra McCollough Roberson; and his grandchildren, Kylie Molock (Forrest), Sydney McCollough, Grant Imahara, Landon McCollough, Matthew Imahara, and Claire Imahara. He is also remembered by extended family who will carry his memory forward.

A funeral service will be held at the graveside at Gwinnett Memorial Park in Lawrenceville, Georgia, on October 4, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. The service will be officiated by Michael R. Lee. Interment will follow at the same location.

Jim's life was marked by faith, service, and love. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
