1954 - 2026

Edith Jean Marshall, 71, passed away February 21, 2026. She was born in Cameron, Mo, on May 18, 1954 to Howard and Jessie Marshall. She attended Osborn School and Northwest Missouri State University and graduated with a Master's Degree in Elementary Education. She taught elementary school at Mound City for several years, Osborn, and later in Kansas City Elementary Schools. After she retired from teaching elementary school, she substituted in various Independence area elementary schools. She had a small day-care center in her home for several years where she could continue to work with young children. She was blessed to be able to travel to several places in the United States from the east coast to the west coast. But the trip she enjoyed the most was the trip she made to Israel to see the Holy Land. She was always very eager to learn as much as she could about her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Jessie Marshall, grandparents, and several aunts and uncles and two first cousins.

Jean is survived by sister, Ruth Ann Archibald, Smithville; brother, Dennis Marshall, Cameron, nieces, Stephanie Compton and Tracy Muller; nephews, Scott Archibald, Brian Marshall and Aaron Marshall; aunts Leola Baumgarden and Blanche Trudell, several cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Memorial fund to American Heart Association.

Funeral service will be Thursday; 10:00 am visitation; funeral, 11:00 am at South Crysler Restoration Branch, Independence, Mo. Burial at Osborn Evergreen Cemetery immediately following service.
