Jean Stoelb

Jean Stoelb, 79, of Valparaiso, Indiana, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025. She was born on August 11, 1946, in Arlington County, Virginia, to the late Margaret Crepps and Walter Lee Watson.

Jean was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her three sons, Matthew (Kelli) Stoelb, Brad (Sandi Nichols) Stoelb, and Eric (Lisa) Stoelb; her beloved grandchildren, Elliot, Lillian, Adam, Ian, Eli, Noah, and Sienna; her brothers Robert (Kathy) Watson and Dennis Watson; her sister Julia Watson; and many nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart. She was preceded in death by her sister Nancy Watson and her brother Thomas Lee Watson.

Faith was a guiding force throughout Jean's life. She was an active member of her church community and joyfully dedicated her time to children's liturgy at both St. Paul's and St. Teresa's in Valparaiso. Jean loved sharing her faith and joy with young people, leaving a lasting impact on many families.

Beyond her faith and family, Jean was known for her warm spirit and love of laughter. She treasured playing games with her friends and family, finding joy in simple moments and creating memories filled with smiles. Her ability to bring people together and her zest for life will be remembered by all who knew her.

Jean's life was a testament to love, faith, and joy. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in the hearts of her family and friends.

Visitation will take place at St. Paul's Church in Valparaiso on Wednesday, September 17th from 9 am to 10 am. A funeral Mass will follow.
