Funeral mass will be 10:30am, Friday, August 8, 2025 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown, SD.
Visitation will be Thursday, August 7th from 5:00pm-7:00pm, with a scripture and rosary at 7:00pm, at Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown.
Interment will be at St. Henry's Cemetery in Henry, SD.
Pallbearers will be Michael Klaudt, Brenden Strohfus, Kieran Strohfus, Francis Mack, Joe Mack and Robert Hoiten.
Mary Jean Corrigan was born January 21, 1937 to William and Lillian (Duffy) Corrigan in Carroll, Iowa. Jean graduated from Rockwell City, Iowa high school and went on to pursue training for an LPN.
Jean married Robert "Bob" Strohfus on September 1, 1962 in Remsen, Iowa. The couple was blessed with four children. They lived on the family farm near Henry, SD, until moving to Watertown, South Dakota in 2000. Robert passed away October, 2005 after celebrating 43 years of marriage.
Jean worked as a Home Healthcare Assistant for over 20 years.
She was involved with St. Henry's Altar Society, and later was a member of The Red Hats Society.
She and Robert enjoyed ballroom dancing and attending Polka Festivals. Jean was an active member of the Watertown Senior Center and volunteered by answering the phone.
Jean is survived by her daughters, Maureen (Paul) Klaudt of Montrose, SD and Diane Strohfus of Mountain View, CA; her, son David (Michelle) Strohfus of Castle Rock, CO; her brothers, Jesse (Eva) Corrigan of Quitman, TX and Dale (Cheryl Corrigan of Bettendorf, IA; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Corrigan, Sandra Corrigan and Sheila Corrigan; four grandchildren, Laura (Robert) Hoiten, Michael Klaudt (fiancée Abbey Hoffman), Brenden Strohfus and Kieran Strohfus; and three great- grandchildren, Jace, Maryn and Dorothy Hoiten.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, William; five brothers, Earl, Lee, Don, Glenn and John.

Jean M. Strohfus passed away at the age of 88 on July 31, 2025 at the Diamond Care Center in Bridgewater, SD.
