Jean Switala Obituary

Jean Ann Switala, 83, passed away peacefully at home with family by her side on Monday, November 21, 2022. She was born on July 1, 1939, in Marinette, to the late Robert Carl, Sr. and Eleanor Lydia (Blom) Nicklaus. Jean was born and raised in Marinette before moving to the Milwaukee area in 1959. She was married on February 4, 1967, to the father of her children Anthony Thomas Switala. Jean worked at Allen Bradley for almost 35 years as an assembler, cherishing the friendships she made during that time. After she retired, she enjoyed helping at church, traveling with friends and family, dinners to socialize, playing cards and spending time at the casino playing slot machines. This past summer, she enjoyed camping with her family, hanging out at the campground and playing the raffles. Jean took joy in reading and spending time with her grandchildren. Family was important to Jean and welcoming Marc and Troy came natural to her, she loved them as her own.
Jean is survived by her daughters Lynn (Marc) Manning and Lisa (Troy) Lisiecki, grandsons Travis and Trent Lisiecki, sister Shirley (Nicklaus) Beauclaire, brothers, Randall "Randy"(Miriam) Nicklaus, and Robert "Bob" (Judy) Nicklaus as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives. Preceded in death by her sister Marilyn (Norman "Chic") Hartert, brother-in-law Joe Beauclaire.
Heartfelt thank you to all Jean's providers at Aurora, Aurora Home Health and Aurora Hospice that provided excellent care.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 9, 2022, at St. Stephen the Martyr Lutheran Church (6101 S 51st St., Greendale) from 10:00 AM until the hour of service at 12:00 PM.
