Jean C. Teeling of Leesburg, FL went to be with our Lord in Heaven for her "Second Act" on Wednesday, July 17th, 2024.
Jean was born in Louisville, KY to her parents Edmond Paris McHugh and Ruth Hockenbury. She was their only child and the apple of their eye.
In the end she spoke of her time growing up in Kentucky with her parents and how they would dote on her.
Her father would get up early every morning to make her breakfast before school and she would go fishing with her mom after school.
She later met the love of her life, Kenneth William Teeling Jr. He was a traveling salesman and she was the receptionist at one of the offices he would visit.
According to Kenny it was love at first sight. The two of them married and went on to raise three children, Donna, Robin and Kraig.
Kenny and Jean devoted their lives to their children and grandchildren, fostering Donna's love for cooking, taking Robin to gymnastics every day, clear across town and attending every baseball and soccer game that Kraig played.
From Louisville, KY, she moved to Hamburg, NJ before then calling Memphis, TN home and then Mint Hill, NC after that.
In retirement, Jean and Ken moved to Leesburg, FL and joined the Pennbrooke Fairways community where she was extremely active and known as "The Church Lady".
She wrote, directed and acted in plays, she loved painting, teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir and was an avid reader. Jean had many friends in the community and was loved by all of them.
Jean is preceded in death by her parents, Edmond and Ruth McHugh, and her loving husband, Kenneth William Teeling Jr.
She is survived by her children, Donna Marie Scott (Mick) of Fruitland Park, FL, Robin Wann (Eric) of Woodstock, GA and Kraig Scott Teeling (Donna) of Iron Station, NC; Her grandchildren, Niki Conn (Mike), Sean Scott, Lindsay Campbell (Jacob),Alex Wann (Johnny), Jessica McCoskey, Charli Floyd (Daniel) and her great grandchildren Jesse Conn, Riley Conn, Dani McCoskey, Hattie McCoskey, Paxton Floyd, Presley Floyd, Kimmy, Jackson and Archer Scott
Jean was the heart of our family and will be deeply missed, but we rejoice in knowing that we will see her again.
In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
. ~John 14:2-3
