Jean Marie Wright, 77, of Wakefield passed away peacefully on November 21, 2025. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Arlene (Mowry) Goodby. Jean was the beloved wife of Thomas B. Wright.
Jean graduated from Hope High School in Providence and completed one year at Rhode Island College. Jean married her husband Tom Wright on June 29, 1968. While Tom was active in the Navy they experienced some beautiful places to live around the US including Hawaii. She returned to RI where Tom retired from the Navy. She then went to work as a school bus aide for special needs children serving for over 27 years.
Besides her husband, she is survived by their daughter Stacy Ann Carrillo, her husband Ryan Carrillo, four granddaughters; Sera, Aila, Kira, and Tessa; two brothers Earl (Mary Lou) Goodby and Donald Goodby, and many loving relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held on December 2, 2025, at 11:30 AM in New Hope Chapel, 80 Richmond Townhouse Rd, Carolina, RI. Visitation will be held on December 1, 2025, from 4 PM to 6 PM in Avery-Storti Funeral Home, 88 Columbia St., Wakefield, RI.
