Jeanette Barnes was born May 3, 1936 in Selmer, TN, the daughter of the late J. C. Dicks and Louise Coln Dicks.
She was united in marriage to Hubert Edgar Barnes on June 6, 1953. Mr. Barnes preceded her in death on November 29, 2013.
Her unwavering faith found a home in several churches over the years, including Falcon Baptist Church, Gravel Hill Baptist Church, and Goodman Oaks Church of Christ in Southaven.
Jeanette had a passion for nurturing life, evident in her love for her grandchildren, gardening and flowers, which brought beauty and joy to those around her. Her adventurous spirit shone through during camping trips and fun-filled bowling nights.
Professionally, Jeanette contributed her talents at Harlows Donuts in Selmer, TN, Hunter Fan in Memphis, TN, and Malone & Hyde in Memphis, TN leaving her mark wherever she went. Each day spent with her was a reminder of the warmth and kindness she shared with the world.
Mrs. Barnes departed this life on January 5, 2025 in Hernando, Mississippi at the age of 88 Years, 8 Months, 2 Days.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathy Chadwick and husband David of Hernando, MS; a sister, Shirley Jernigan and husband David of Selmer, TN; a host of nieces and nephews: one grandchild, Stephanie Parr and husband Justin; four great grandchildren, Tyler Rogers and wife Kristyn, Blake Wilson and wife Phoenix, Austin Danielson and wife Taylor, Maryanna Duncan; and eight great great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Griggs; two brothers, Butch Dicks and Jimmy Dicks.
