Jeanette Barnes Christmas

Jeanette Barnes Christmas, born May 29, 1939, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025, at the age of 86. She was born in a country home in Cottondale FL. Jeanette embodied the spirit of entrepreneurship, successfully managing several trailer parks and rental properties throughout her life. She was remarkably savvy with her finances and approached every challenge with intelligence and determination. Jeanette was also known for her extraordinary memory, recalling life events and stories with vivid detail that often delighted her family and friends.

Family was always at the center of Jeanette's life. She cherished spending time with her loved ones, attending family gatherings, and connecting with her cousins, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Every person who met Jeanette was touched by her sweet and gentle disposition, a quality admired by all. She was a dedicated member of the Red Hat Society and Lynn Haven Baptist Church, where she built many cherished friendships.

Jeanette's memory will be cherished by her daughters, Kathy Kelly (husband Winford) and Tammy Trumbull (husband Jay Sr.); her sister, Voncile Jackson; her grandchildren, Wendall Kelly (Eileen), Brandi Sims (Daren), Jay Trumbull Jr. (Brittany), Emily Trumbull Pons (Ryan), and Sarah Catherine Trumbull Mallicote (Miles); and her great-grandchildren, Weston, Walker, Maci, Maggie, Merritt, Tripp, Emery, Foster, Emmaline, Whitley, and Amelia. She also leaves behind her loving cousins and her beloved dog, Pippi.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 42 years, Benjamin Christmas; her brother, Harold Barnes; her sisters, Christine Freeman and Mary Lois Barnes; and her parents, George Washington Barnes, Jr. and Bessie Rena Davis Barnes.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Jeanette's caregivers-Elaine Adkison and Mary Mathis-whose kindness meant so much, as well as to the nurses and staff at Peoples Hospice for their dedicated care during Jeanette's final months.

The family will receive friends at Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Friday, October 17, 2025, at 2:30 PM. Funeral services lead by Pastor Tommy Carr will begin at 3:00 PM and interment will follow onsite at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Asked to serve as pallbearers are her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jeanette's legacy of love, kindness, and joyful memories will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.
