Jeanette Eltringham, 100, of Harrisburg, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Homeland Center. Born on January 27, 1925, in Scranton, PA, she was the beloved wife of the late John Joseph Eltringham, Sr.
Jeanette lived a full and meaningful life, marked by love, devotion, and quiet strength. She was a high school graduate and worked at Horn's Department Store before eventually becoming the manager at White Shield Store. Above all, she embraced her most cherished role as a devoted mother and homemaker, dedicating herself to raising and caring for her family. A woman of deep faith, Jeanette was a devoted member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church. She will be remembered for her kind heart, unwavering love for her family, and the gentle grace with which she lived her life.
Jeanette leaves behind her 4 children, John Joseph Eltringham, Jr., Anne "Susan" Maxwell, William Eltringham, and Ellen Fee; 9 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and other extended family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parent, she was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Catherine Eltringham and Maureen Steigerwalt; and a brother, Laroue Deckard.
She will be laid to rest alongside her daughter and husband at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Mechanicsburg, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her memory to your local SPCA.
