Jeanette Luker Moody

Helen Jeanette Stokes was born in Holt, Florida, on November 1, 1930, to James and Annie Stokes. She was the eighth of nine children. She grew up and spent most of her childhood in Harold, FL.
Jeanette married Sam Luker in 1957, and together they had two sons. They were married for 39 years until Sam's passing in 1996.
Jeanette was known for her love of being with people. She rarely missed an opportunity to connect-whether at Garden Club lunches, Red Hat Society outings, Hospice gatherings, or Railroad Retirement dinners. She was active, social, and delighted in time spent with friends. Even at 95 years old, she continued attending Marcus Pointe Baptist Church and going out to lunch each week until the final days of her life.
Later in life, Jeanette married Hal Moody. They enjoyed a wonderful season together including being involved with the Retired Military Officers chapter.
Jeanette went to be with the Lord on December 4, 2025, at the age of 95. She leaves behind a legacy of faith, friendship, and a life lived fully and beautifully.
Jeanette is survived by her two sons, Sammy (Sandra) and Mickey; her granddaughters, Lauren (Nate) and Lindsey (Mark); and six great-grandchildren-Davis, Dawson, Sadie, Taylor, Lori, and Barrett.
Services will be Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at Marcus Pointe Baptist Church. Visitation will be at 11 – 12pm and the service will be at 12pm.
