Jeanette Suggs Wheeler

Jeanette Wheeler, 80, of Durham, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2025. She was born on July 14, 1945, in Durham, NC, to the late Ernest and Annie Suggs.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband and the love of her life, Donnie Wheeler.

Mrs. Wheeler retired from Verizon as a Toll Investigator and had worked as a long-distance operator for many years. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Jeanette enjoyed crocheting, watching the Food Network, cooking, and, most of all, spending time with her granddaughter and great-grandson.

Jeanette is survived by her daughter, Connie Costello; granddaughter, Brittany Mercer (Dusty); great-grandson, Jameson Mercer; and brothers-in-law, Ronnie Wheeler (Carol) and Freddie McBroom (Linda); niece, Melissa Poole (Kevin), and nephew, Bryan Wheeler.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, August 18, 2025, at Oak Grove Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.        Rev. Hugh O’Shields will officiate.

Visitation will be held at Hudson Funeral Home prior to the service from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M.
