Jeanine Bailey, a devoted caregiver, business owner, and beloved friend to many, passed away on Tuesday November 11, 2025, surrounded by love and peace.

Jeanine dedicated much of her life to helping others as a critical care nurse at Mary Black Hospital, where her compassion, skill, and quiet strength touched countless lives. Her patients and colleagues alike knew her as a steady presence in difficult times — someone who always led with both expertise and heart.

For the past 30 years, Jeanine was the owner and operator of Mike’s Bait & Tackle, where she greeted everyone with a smile and genuine interest in their stories. The shop became more than a business — it was a gathering place where Jeanine’s warmth and kindness left a lasting mark on generations.

Jeanine found joy in the simple and beautiful things in life — big planes, big trucks, trains, sunrises, mountain streams, and all animals - especially cats! She also loved Winnie the Pooh, whose gentle wisdom and kindness reflected her own heart.

A lifelong Methodist, she lived her faith quietly and sincerely, showing love and care to everyone she met.

She is survived by one son, Michael Wesley Bailey; one daughter, Teresa (Tee-Cee) Bailey; one granddaughter, Sarah Bailey; one brother, Gerald Gilbert and his wife Jean Harper Gilbert; and her sister-in-law, Connie Hulsey Gilbert.

She was predeceased by one brother, Russell Gilbert.

Jeanine will be remembered for her gentle heart, generous spirit, and the countless lives she touched. Her kindness and light will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

“If ever there is tomorrow when we’re not together... there is something you must always remember.

You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.”

— A.A. Milne (Winnie the Pooh)
