It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jeanne S. Maxwell, age 72, of Bellingham, MA. A devoted mother, cherished grandmother, beloved sister and dear friend. She left us peacefully on September 16, 2024, after a period of declining health surrounded by her loved ones.
Jeanne was the heart and soul of our family, embodying everything it meant to be an amazing mom. She nurtured her family with unconditional love, offered guidance through every challenge, and celebrated our victories as if they were her own. Her warmth, compassion and hugs made every problem seem smaller.
As a grandmother, Jeanne showered her grandchildren with so much affection, wisdom, and life lessons and her spirit will forever live on in our hearts and of those that she touched. Jeanne was also a wonderful sister and loyal friend, always ready to lend a listening ear or offer a helping hand. Jeanne's kindness, compassion, and unwavering support will deeply be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She leaves behind her children who were her heart and soul, Melissa Visconti and her husband David of Bellingham, and Eric Cormier and his wife Lisa of Mendon. She also leaves a legacy of love for her grandchildren, Zoë, Ryan, Vincent and Giana, that will always continue in their hearts.
Jeanne also leaves behind her loving siblings, Vivian Marcell and her husband Paul of Millbury, David Karakeian and his wife June of Bellingham, Mark Karakeian, and Ronnie Karakeian, both of Milford. She was preceded in death by her beloved brother Anthony Karakeian but is survived by his devoted wife Jill Karakeian of Bellingham. Her extended family included many nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Maxwell.
In her earlier days as a waitress at Pago Pago in Milford, Jeanne was known for her genuine kindness and radiant smile. Her loyal patrons fondly remember her as someone who made every guest feel like family. With her gift for conversation, she had a remarkable ability to connect with everyone, leaving a lasting impression on all who entered the restaurant.
Jeanne's life was defined by her tenacity and compassion. As a devoted single mother, she raised her children with fierce love and dedication, instilling in them the values of hard work and kindness. Her outgoing spirit meant she never met a stranger she couldn't spark up a conversation with. Friends and family will always cherish her exceptional cooking and the generous meals she shared with the family and the neighborhood, along with her warm company.
In her leisure time, Jeanne found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved watching cooking shows, tackling crossword puzzles, and playing card games, showcasing her sharp mind and competitive spirit. Above all, she cherished her time with family, especially her grandchildren, whom she delighted in cheering on at games, cooking for, or simply sharing in their special moments.
Jeanne's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the countless memories created around her family and friends. Her absence will be profoundly felt by all who had the privilege of knowing her, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide her loved ones.
The family invites you to celebrate Jeanne's life on Thursday, October 3, from 3:30 to 7:30 PM at the Marchegiano Club, 60 Meade Street, Milford. Friends and family are warmly welcome to join in honoring her memory.
