Jeanne F. Nicholson, 84, of Benton, IL passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2025 in Harrisburg, IL. She was born on May 22, 1941 in St. Louis, MO the daughter of John and Gertrude (Leiser) Winkler. Jeanne graduated from Rosati-Kain High School in St. Louis, MO. She married David L. Nicholson on October 17, 1959 and he preceded her in death on February 25, 2023.
Jeanne worked along side her husband in their sporting goods store and later went to work as a waitress at Cafe 14 In Palatine, IL. She enjoyed spending time with her family along with bowling, fishing, trap shooting and visiting the casino. Jeanne was a very creative homemaker who enjoyed sewing and making her children's clothes as well painting, wall papering and decorating the family home.
Jeanne survived by her children, Tracy (Marc) Pavese of Benton, IL, Denise (Steve) Kendrick of Cuba, MO, Cara (Jeremy) Blevins of Newark, IL, and David (Bonnie) Nicholson Jr. of Hattiesburg, MS; grandchildren, Charlie Philpott, Michael Philpott, Danielle Ryan, Amanda Moss, Brianna Nicholson, Brian Nicholson, Brayden Nicholson, Tony Pavese, Nick Pavese and Jen Haney; great-grandchildren, Jack Philpott, Grayson Moss, Kinsley Ryan, Trevor Ryan, Liliana Pavese, Anthony Pavese and Eleina Radzevicius; and sisters, Mary Kay Taber and Opal McAllister. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, David and three siblings, Judy Miriani, Trude Cason and John Winkler.
A service to celebrate the life of Jeanne Nicholson, 84, of Benton, IL will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, and will be accepted at Campbell Funeral Home, 609 W.
