Jeanne A. Wendt entered the Presence of her Lord on May 31, 2025. Jeanne was born in Big Rapids, Michigan, on April 1, 1948, to Harry and Arlyn Bender. She graduated from Wheaton College with a Bachelor's degree in elementary education. On July 11, 1971, she married her best friend and life partner, James (Jim) Wendt. Jeanne spent her entire career in education, teaching 3rd graders at Lincoln Elementary School in Wheaton, Illinois. She also devoted much time and energy over the years to various children's ministries at Evangel Baptist Church and the Compass Church, both also in Wheaton. Jeanne also enjoyed gardening with her husband Jim, sewing, knitting, and various papercraft arts. Together, she and Jim served the Lord with their shared gifts of helps and giving. Jeanne is survived by her husband Jim, sisters Christine Graham and Margaret Bender, several brother and sister-in-laws and many nieces and nephews and their families. A memorial service for Jeanne will be held at The Compass Church, 520 E. Roosevelt Rd., Wheaton, on Friday, July 11th at 4:00 p.m. Proverbs 3:5 and 6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Lamentations 3:22 and 23 It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
