WATERVLIET Jeannine E. Dufort-Mannix, 89, of Bell Tower Drive passed away peacefully Tuesday June 17, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Troy she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Allen Snyder. She was a graduate of Catholic Central High School and Mildred Elly School.
Jeannine had served as Administrative Assistant to the president of Siena College for many years and retired in 1995. She was made an honorary Franciscan.
Jeannine was a sports enthusiast and an avid golfer. She was a member of the VanSchiack Country Club and was Ladies Club Champion multiple times. She had achieved 3 "holes-in-one" during her golfing career. She was a member of the Northeast Women's Golf Association and was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and NY Mets fan.
Jeannine was predeceased by her husbands, Leo Dufort Sr. in 1993 and James Mannix in 2024. She is the loving mother of Karen Blanchfield (Joseph) of Hoosick Falls, Leo Dufort Jr. of Clifton Park, Mark Dufort (Mary Beth) of Clifton Park, Cheryl Haggerty (John) of Brunswick, Matthew Dufort (Kathleen) of Naples, FL and the late Carolyn Dufort. She is the sister of William Snyder (Sharon) of Port St. Lucie FL, Gerard Snyder (fiancé, David) of VanHornesville, NY, the late John and Donald Snyder and sister in law of Janet Snyder of Virginia and the late Theresa Snyder. She is the proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass to be offered at 11 am on Monday June 23, 2025 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 119 Broad St.,Waterford. Interment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Waterford.
Those who wish may make a memorial contribution to the Leo & Jeannine Dufort Student Athlete of the Month Award at Siena College, 515 Loudon Rd., Loudonville, NY 12211. Attn: Athletic Office.
