Jedidiah Verhaagh, age 42, passed away unexpectedly on November 2, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of quiet kindness and a gentle spirit that touched those who knew him.
Born on February 8, 1983, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Jed approached life with optimism, taking pride in doing his work well and caring deeply for those around him. His calm demeanor and patient heart made him a steady presence in the lives of family, friends and coworkers alike. He reserved a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews, sharing his love of books, movies and video games with them.
Jed was the kind of person who could be counted on – faithful, dependable and quietly generous in ways that often went unnoticed but never unappreciated.
Those who loved him will remember Jedidiah’s gentle humor, thoughtful nature and the kindness that showed itself not in grand gestures, but in simple, everyday acts of care. Though life was not always easy, he attempted to overcome difficult situations with God’s grace.
Jed attended Southwest High School in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and spent time as a ballroom dance instructor, remaining interested in ballroom dance throughout his life. His love and appreciation for his mother was apparent to all who knew him, and he loved all of his nieces and nephews with great care. Jed was also proud of his work at Ariens Manufacturing Company, where he found support, friends and fulfillment.
Jedidiah is survived by his mother, Katherine Selsmeyer Verhaagh, three siblings: Troy (Victoria), Todd (Amy), and Rachael (Greg), as well as twelve nieces and nephews and four grand nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Verhaagh.
Visitation will be Friday, November 7, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 130 St. Matthews Street., Green Bay. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Jedidiah at 11:00 am with Fr. Bob Kabat officiating. Interment will be at Allouez Catholic Cemetery. Cotter Funeral and Cremation Care is assisting the family with arrangements.
Jed will be remembered not for the noise he made in the world, but for the peace he brought to it. His absence leaves a silence that speaks of a life lived with love and quiet acts of service.
