Andrew William Eickman Obituary
September 17, 1946 - October 30, 2025
Andrew W. Eickman, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 30, 2025. Andy was born on September 17, 1946 in Menominee, Michigan to Roman and Lucille (Garon) Eickman. He was a 1964 graduate of Catholic Central High School in Marinette and a 1973 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. In 1994 Andrew earned his Master of Arts in Education from Northern Michigan University.
On May 29, 1971, Andrew married his soulmate, Mary (Robbins) Eickman at St. John the Baptist Church in Menominee, MI. Mary passed away earlier this year, on May 4, 2025. Andy and Mary were madly in love and inseparable until the end, a witness to all around them of God's unending love.
A Vietnam War veteran, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1967 to 1971 having completed three tours of duty during that time. He worked for Lakeland College in Green Bay, Appleton Coated in Combined Locks, Scott Paper Company in Marinette and Oconto Falls, and the Appleton Area Chamber of Commerce. In March 2005 he retired after 32 years in the paper industry. Seeing its importance during his time in the service, Andy was an active American Red Cross blood donor throughout his life.
Andrew was one of a kind - a sincerely curious and patient listener, a compassionate and gentle caregiver, a fiercely loyal family member and friend, a captivating storyteller and jokester, a brilliant yet humble thinker, a servant-hearted leader and helper, an accepting and kind includer.
Andrew asked questions of you, wanting to hear about your life, and, because he cared about everyone he met, he would circle back with you to see how you were doing, remembering those concerns or life events that you shared. He endeared himself to so many, and he will be deeply missed.
Andrew is survived by his son, Gregory (Carrie) Eickman, his daughter Molly Tomashek; his grandchildren (St. Clare (Ellie) Tomashek, Andrew C. (Olivia) Eickman, John Tomashek, Addison Eickman, Morgan Tomashek, Audrey Eickman, and Jane Tomashek); his sisters (Mary Lou Buchman, Anne (André) Lebel, Eileen Coffey, and Paulette Eickman); nieces and nephews; and many dear friends and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his wife Mary, his father Roman, his mother Lucille, his nephew Andrew Lebel, and his great-nephew Alexander Jessup.
The family is forever indebted to the compassionate staff members of Tender Hearts Assisted Living, Bellevue Senior Living, Powerback Rehabilitation, and Unity Hospice for their love and care of our precious Andrew as he courageously battled Parkinson's for 8 years and then pancreatic cancer for the last month of his life.
A visitation will be held at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N 10th Street, De Pere, WI on Friday, November 7, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. After a luncheon at the funeral home, all are welcome to join the family at Allouez Catholic Cemetery, 2121 Riverside Drive, Green Bay, WI for Andrew's burial with Military Honors at 1:45 p.m..
