Mary Eickman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ryan Funeral Home & Crematory - De Pere on May 5, 2025.
Mary R. Eickman, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, May 4, 2025. Mary was born on March 9, 1949 in Minneapolis, MN to George and Phyllis (Gregory) Robbins.
After living in Wayzata, MN, the family moved to Marinette, WI in 1952, where Mary graduated from Marinette High School in 1967. She married her soulmate, Andrew Eickman, on May 29, 1971, a day before graduating from UW-Madison with a bachelor's degree in Communication. In 1998, she earned her Master's of Science in Education Leadership. During her career she worked at University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, Northeast Wisconsin Technical College-Marinette, Aerial Company, Marinette Area Chamber of Commerce, Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce, Lac Baie Girl Scout Council, Fox Cities Girl Scout Council, St. Norbert College, and Lakeland University-Green Bay. In 1990 she was awarded the Esther Bie Community Service Award by the Lac Baie Girl Scout Council.
Mary was the most extroverted person you will ever meet, making friends wherever she went. Once she learned your name and a bit about your life, you were remembered forever. Mary touched countless lives with her genuine love of people, her boisterous laugh, and her generous hospitality. Above any accomplishment in her life, her greatest pride and joy was being the
grandmother of her seven grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her beloved husband Andrew, her son Gregory (Carrie) Eickman, her daughter Molly Tomashek, her grandchildren (St. Clare (Ellie) Tomashek, Andrew C. (Olivia) Eickman, John Tomashek, Addison Eickman, Morgan Tomashek, Audrey Eickman, and Jane Tomashek), extended family, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her mother
Phyllis, her father George, brother Curtis, nephew Andrew Lebel, and great-nephew Alexander Jessup.
The family is forever indebted to the compassionate staff members of HomeInstead, Tender Hearts Assisted Living, and St. Croix Hospice for their love and care of our precious Mary Claire, as she courageously lived through her five-year battle with Alzheimer's. Words cannot express our gratitude for all of you.
A visitation will be held at Ryan Funeral Home, 305 N 10th Street, De Pere, WI on Saturday, May 10, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., with a funeral service to follow at 2:30 p.m. Burial will be held at Allouez Catholic Cemetery, 2121 Riverside Dr., Green Bay, WI on Monday, May 12 at 11:30 a.m.
