Jeffry S. Conrad, age 61 of Lima, passed at 5:29 a.m., Thursday, May 22, 2025 at home. He was born August 15, 1963 in Lima, Ohio to the late Victor Wayne and Eleanore Felas Conrad. On June 26, 1993 he married Valery J. Art, and she survives.
He was a proud U.S. Army veteran, serving his country from 1985 to 1988. Following his military service, Jeff dedicated his career to public safety, retiring as a correctional officer from Allen-Oakwood Correctional Institution.
Jeff was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Lima and lived a life rooted in faith, loyalty, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life. He was an enthusiastic sports fan, always cheering for the Ohio State Buckeyes, the L.A. Dodgers, and the Minnesota Vikings. Music brought him great joy-especially the sounds of the Beatles, AC/DC, and Rush, which played often in the background of his life.
He is also survived by 2 brothers – Randy (Barb) Conrad of Lima; Mark (Shelia) Conrad of Elida; a sister – Kathy (Gordon) Fretz of Sellersville, PA; and many nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial will begin 11:00 a.m., May 29, 2025
at St. John's Catholic Church. Father David Ross will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 a.m. until time of services, 11:00 a.m., May 29th at the church.
A private family service will take place at Gethsemani Cemetery, where military honors will be rendered by V.F.W. Post 1275 of Lima.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Food Pantry.
