Jeffery Capehart Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 5, 2025.
Jeffery L. Capehart, fondly known as Jeff, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025, at the Peachtree Inn at The Orchards. Born on March 23, 1941, in East Liverpool, Ohio, Jeff lived a full life of 84 years, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, music, and dedication that touched the lives of many.

Jeff attended East Liverpool High School and afterwards devoted much of his life to the Beaver Local School system, where he served as a beloved janitor for 31 years. His warm presence and cheerful disposition made him a favorite among students and faculty alike, creating a welcoming environment for all who knew him.

Jeff's love for music was a defining aspect of his character. For 55 years, he shared his talents as a gifted organist at the East Liverpool First Church of the Nazarene, where he also served faithfully as a janitor, fueled by his deep love for his church community. His musical contributions extended beyond the church, as he played the organ for the Hollow Rock Camp meeting in Toronto for an impressive 50 years. Jeff's melodic gift enriched many weddings, funerals, and various organizational functions, leaving lasting memories through his music.

Jeff is preceded in death by his parents, Willard G. and Helen E.(Russell) Capehart, and his brother-in-law, Jim Butler.

He is survived by his sister, Maureen Butler, of Chester, WV . Jeff was also blessed with the friendship of Kevan and Penny Cunningham, who, along with their children Toby Hayward and Ryan Cunningham, considered him family and brought much joy to his life.

Jeff's family and friends would like to extend a thank-you to the employees at Peachtree Inn for the love and care they showed Jeff.

In keeping with Jeff's wishes, no services will be observed, however, memorial donations can be made in Jeff's name to East Liverpool First Church of the Nazarene at 670 Walnut Street, East Liverpool, OH 43920 or Hollow Rock Camp Meeting at 1958 Co Hwy 51, Toronto, OH 43964 or by clicking the "DONATE" button on Jeff's obituary page at www.carechapel.com.
