On July 5, 2024, Jeffery Allen Orvis, a beloved husband to Jackie, proud father to Joshua and step father to Cody Stroud, fell asleep in death at the age of 55. Born into the loving arms of Gayle and George Orvis on March 4, 1969 in Searcy, AR. He graduated from high school in Beebe, AR. Later on, he became a talented welder and metal fabricator. He worked as a diligent employee at Searcy Sheet Metal for over a decade.
Jeff is survived by his wife; Jackie, sons; Joshua Orvis (Rachel) and Cody Stroud, parents; Gayle and George Orvis, brother; Wade (Nikki) and their children; Parker Orvis, Zane Orvis, Lyndi Leath (Hunter), Dylan Paul (Delaney), sister; Missy Foster (Sam Foster), as well as many uncles, aunts, cousins and dear friends.
Jeff was a man of few words and many talents. He was kind, hardworking, and an avid outdoorsman. He loved surprising his wife with his new creations, whether it was an outdoor pizza oven, birdhouse, squirrel feeder, metal outdoor yard cactus or just a simple wildflower bouquet picked off the side of the road on the way home from work or in his apiary yard. He was even known to make sourdough bread, wine and mead. Playing with his dogs, fishing, gardening, and beekeeping were some of his favorite pastimes. In fact, he served as the president of the White County Beekeepers Association for many years. He was also a big Razorback fan.
Jeff not only valued creation, but also his creator. He dedicated his life to God when he was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on December 27, 2008. Jeff had strong faith in God and our savior, Jesus Christ. He died with his faith intact.
Jeff will be missed dearly, but we know he is safe in God's memory.
