Loving survivors include his wife of 35 years, Patty Bates, son, Mykel Bates, daughter, Amelia Bates, brothers, Robert Bates, and Jerry Bates, sisters, Connie (Doug) Thomason, and Joanne Cockman.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Caruth Village Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 20, 2023 at Caruth Village Funeral Home.
Pallbearers are Kelly Bates, Jerry Long, Eddie Bettis, Jake Ingolia, Christopher Ingolia, and Kelvin Godwin.
