Jeffrey A. Cowan age 65 passed away on Thursday, October 16, in his Lake McConaughy home.
Jeff was born on December 16, 1959, in Moorehead, Minnesota to Sylvia and Ray Cowan. The family moved the following year to Aurora, Colorado. Jeff attended Sable Elementary School, where he met several of his closest friends, followed by East Middle School and then Hinkley High School. At 19 years old, Jeff began his career as an injection molding material handler at Amcor. He eventually rose to Senior Plant Manager, a role he served until his retirement in 2017, after 38 years with the company.
Jeff married his beloved wife Eileen in 1981 at Aurora, Colorado. Jeff and Eileen were blessed with two children, Stephanie and Jason. They eventually settled in Lone Tree Colorado, where they raised their family.
Jeff was well-known for being a generous leader, a loyal friend, and a loving family man. He was always there for anyone who needed him. As a child, Jeff developed a love for camping at Lake McConaughy, and he passed on that love to his own family, who spent their summers there. In 2016, he and his son, Jason, founded Beach Bumz, a rental company based at the lake.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Eileen; his children, Stephanie (Stefan), of New York, and Jason, of Nebraska; his grandchild, Arthur; his mother, Sylvia, of Colorado; brothers Danny, Larry and Jerry (Lynn) of Colorado; numerous nieces and nephews and many devoted lifelong friends and family members.
Jeff was preceded in death by his father, Ray.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
